Welcome to Kaala. For over twenty-nine years now, Kaala has been my D&D world. It has a long history, much of which has been contributed and changed by the players through their characters' history and role-playing sessions. I ask that every character destined for Kaala have a personal history - anything from a concrete outline to a lengthy discourse or perhaps a poem, short story, or playbill! Don't be afraid to include enemies and adverse events; I will see to balancing the effects of both. I promise that no history will be ignored and that, be it in a small or spectacular way, your history will be woven into the tapestry of Kaala.The sections that follow are amendments to the game. They supersede all other material; optional rules in use have been noted but there are many others available upon request. The format is intentionally similar to that of the Player's Handbook (PHB, 5.0 Ed.) and written with that section's information in mind (page numbers are provided where appropriate).
I wish to run a serious campaign that partakes of the best of both low and high fantasy. I intend to aim for the majesty of a Tolkien-like campaign without taking away the players' freedom of choice. There should be a place for pet lizardmen bouncers as well as epic battles.
